Yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khanna passed away this afternoon at his residence Aashirwad in Bandra, Mumbai at the age of 69. Rajesh had been ailing for sometime and undergoing dialysis processes. Just last month his fans had got hope when he waved to them from the balcony of his bungalow, accompanied by son-in-law Akshay Kumar. He had seemed thin and weak, but healthy. Rajesh Khanna to be discharged in a day or two
Rajesh Khanna, the superstar of the 1970s, is recovering and will be discharged from the hospital in a day or two, said actor and his estranged wife Dimple Kapadia. “He is doing well. He is much better now. He shall be discharged in a day or two,” said Dimple. The 69-year-old was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday. He has not been keeping well for quite some time. On April 20, his manager Ashwin said that the actor had stopped taking food for “three or four days”. But the next day, Khanna stepped out of his Bandra bungalow, Aashirvad, to wave at fans. Dimple and son-in-law Akshay Kumar were at his side and said that he was “fine”. In April, the actor was admitted to hospital after he felt uneasy and weak. He was discharged after about three days. Dimple said that “he is exhausted and a little weak” and that he doesn’t have any liver infection.
Khanna recently featured in Havell’s fan new ad campaign called – Havells Fans Forever. Fondly called ‘Kaka’ by his fans, his golden era started with the 1969 blockbuster Aaradhana and it was followed by hits like Do Raaste, Safar, Kati Patang and Anand. In 1973, he married Dimple and has two daughters with her – Twinkle and Rinke. Dimple and Khanna separated in 1984 and thereafter lived separately. Their elder daughter Twinkle is married to Akshay and Rinke is married to London-based investment banker Samir Saran.Click here to read more -

Yesteryears’ superstar Rajesh Khanna, who is being treated at Lilavati Hospital for almost two weeks, might be discharged over the weekend, according to a source close to the actor. “Rajesh-ji is stable now, his blood reports came today and are normal. He might get discharged by Saturday or Sunday,” the source said. The 69-year-old, fondly called Kaka by his fans, was admitted to the hospital June 23 and has been undergoing treatment since then. His estranged wife, actor Dimple Kapadia, has been by his side ever since. Khanna has been battling health issues for quite some time. In April, he was admitted to the hospital after he complained of weakness, but was discharged in three to four days. Bollywood’s first superstar, Khanna has been a part of the film industry for over four decades and has given hit films like Aradhana, Safar, Kati Patang and Anand, among others.

Veteran superstar Rajesh Khanna who was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai two weeks ago has been discharged, his wife Dimple Kapadia informed. “Khanna is back home. He was discharged yesterday (Saturday). He is absolutely fine now,” said Dimple. The 69-year-old actor, fondly called Kaka, was admitted to Lilavati hospital June 23. Khanna was accompanied by wife and daughter Rinke Khanna when he was being discharged. The actor has been battling health issues for quite some time.
