    Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children will finally release in India
    And the good news is that PVR pictures has agreed to distribute the film and will release it in the first or second week of December

    Director Deepa Mehta has had a tough time trying to make her film Midnight’s Children hit theatre screens in India. In fact, she was asked to do away with writer Salman Rushdie’s voiceover in the film ‘coz he has been quite a controversial figure over the years as a fatwa was issued against him in 1989. But Ms Mehta didn’t budge despite not having a single distributor ready to invest in her historical fiction.
