BALIKA VADHU: Neha Marda aka Gehna quits
Neha Marda, who plays the feisty Gehna in Colors’ top show Balika Vadhu, has decided she will not act in the serial anymore. Neha is marrying her fiance, Patna-based businessman Ayush Aggarwal, and she wants to take a break. The actor told a daily newspaper that she wants to explore her relationship with her husband and go on a long honeymoon so she is quitting the show. Her husband and her mother-in-law actually tried to persuade her to not quit Balika Vadhu but she felt it was the right decision, she said. Neha hopes to come back after a couple of months and host reality shows. Neha joined the show last year when the storyline took a leap and the child artistes were replaced by adult actors. Since then, there have been a couple of controversies with rumours doing the rounds saying that Neha is unfriendly on the sets. But Neha has dismissed it saying she was specifically asked by her director to keep distance in real life from the actors who are playing her adversaries onscreen. Anyway, with Neha dropping his bombshell on the writers of the show, we wonder what will happen to Anandi now.
