The youth centric Tamil film, Ishtam is the remake of the Telugu version, Yemaindi Ee Vela
Directed by Prem Nizar, Ishtam stars Vimal of Kalavani fame, and Kajal Aggarwal’s sister Nisha Aggarawal in lead roles. Vimal apparently had a complete makeover from his rustic image to a hip dude for this film. His previous works like Pasanga, Kalavani and Eththan often had him playing a rural character. Nisha who played the lead in the Telugu version was asked to reprise her role in Ishtam as well, which marks as her debut in the Tamil film industry. The couple were recently in the news for their raunchy lip-lock in the movie. The film finished all its shooting schedule by September 2011 and is all set to hit the theatres by mid 2012.
The music of the film is composed by Thaman and the cinematography is helmed by Shekhar Joseph.
