Tamil actor Manorama discharged from hospital

Popular Tamil actor Manorama, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai a week back following chest pain, was discharged on Tuesday, said a family relative

The veteran actor, fondly called Aachi by her fans, was admitted to Apollo Hospital on March 30.

“Doctors had performed angioplasty and she was kept under observation for over a week at the hospital. She has recovered well. We took her home late last evening (Tuesday). She has been advised rest for a few more weeks,” said a relative of the actor.

The actor started her career as a lead heroine with the movie Konjum Kumari. Manorama, who has starred in over 750 Tamil films, spanning over five decades, is one of the finest female comedians of the southern film industry.

The 75-year old was last seen in the Suriya-starrer Tamil action movie Singam 2 last year.
