Four relatively new actors in the industry were pitted against each other for the next slot to super stardom and fans have declared their verdict
Atharvaa Murali, Gautham Karthik, Vikram Prabhu and Sivakarthikeyan were the contestants of the race to be the GenNext superstar. All the four actors are newbies in Tamil cinema and have just started to imprint their footprints in the cine world. A few days back we asked fans who according to them has shot to super stardom amongst the four contenders. We expected it to be a close contest, but the fans had some other plans.
Vikram Prabhu and Atharvaa Murali finished third and fourth spot respectively. But they were never in the contest right from the start. With Vikram Prabhu and Atharvaa Murali out of the race, it was a closely contested battle between Sivakarthikeyan and Gautham Karthik initially. The see-saw battle finally tilted towards Ethir Neechal star Sivakarthikeyan who had comfortably beaten the rest.
Sivakarthikeyan crossed the finish line with 59 percent of the votes claiming him to be the GenNext superstar. Yesteryear hero Karthik’s son, Gautham Karthik received 32 percent votes followed by Vikram Prabhu and Atharvaa who were left way behind with 5 percent and 4 percent of votes respectively.
Sivakarthikeyan charms seems to be working on the masses as the actor has churned out three back to back hits with Ethir Neechal, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Maan Karate. We believe it’s his funny boy next door image that has made him rule the roost. With the fans unanimously backing Sivakarthikeyan, it would be interesting to see whether the star can break into A-list of Tamil actors and eventually become the next Rajinikanth of Kollywood.
