Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’ goes hi-tech!

Superstar Rajinikanth’s film with Katrina Kaif will incorporate animation similar to Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin

Going a step further from his special effects sci-fi film Endhiran (Robot), Rajinikanth’s new film will use motion capture technology. The same visual effects tool had been used in Steven Speilberg’s 2011 blockbuster, The Adventures of Tintin. Rajini’s film Kochadaiyaan, produced by his younger daughter Soundarya and starring Katrina Kaif, will incorporate motion capture so that the Superstar does not have to shoot on the field too much. The actor had been ill for a better part of 2011 and has been advised rest whenever possible.

Buzz is that Rajini will be playing the character of a legendary Pandya king belonging to the eighth century king in Kochadaiyaan. The actor will be seen in long hair in the film. Kochadaiyaan is directed by KS Ravikumar with music by maestro AR Rahman.
