Karthi-Lakshmi Menon starrer Komban is slated to release during festive season of Pongal
After 2014 Diwali clash at box office turned out to be a damp squib, as Vikram’s I delayed it’s release, Pongal 2015 seems to hosting an epic clash at theatres yet again. With Thala Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal touted to release during Pongal and Vikram’s I hitting big screen on January 9, this harvest season is expected to be a blast for movie lovers.
When two big films have locked horns at an auspicious date, it takes a highly confident filmmaker to release his film along with the titans. The makers of Karthi-Lakshmi Menon starrer Komban seem to be highly confident about their film as they have decided to release their film along with I and Yennai Arindhaal this Pongal.
The makers have put up ads across newspapers stating Karthi’s Komban to be ready for Pongal release. Interestingly, two more films Vishal’s Aambla and Sivakarthikeyan’s Kakki Sattai is expected to hit the screens on Pongal. When the festival dates seem to be jam packed with films literally locking horns, we wonder if it is wise of makers of Komban to release the film on a very crowded and highly competitive slot.
Coming days will let us know, which films have backed out from Pongal race, as it seems the only smart thing to do when Ajith and Vikram wrestle at box office.
