The Kollywood composer turns 26 today
Born on June 13, 1987, it’s going to be a heady birthday for GV Prakash Kumar, what with his wedding barely a fortnight away. The composer and singer Saindhavi are set to marry on June 27 in Chennai.
While things look rosy and romantic on the personal front, it’s going very well professionally, too, for GV, who is a nephew of the legendary AR Rahman.
GV Prakash has been the choice of several top-of-the-line directors in recent times. Bala chose him for Paradesi and he’s also composed for Bharathiraja’s Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum. Vijay’s Thalaivaa has music by GV as well. What’s more, director Vijay so loved GV’s work in his period film, Madrasapattinam, he roped him in for his next, the Vikram-starrer Thaandavam. Pookkal Pookkum Tharunam from Madrasapattinam put GV firmly on top of the charts. His Yaathe Yaathe song from Aadukalam, which he also sang, was another hit. Currently, he’s also busy with Jayam Ravi-starrer Nimirndhu Nil and Raja Rani.
The boy who started as a vocalist in films such as Boys as a teenager has sure come a long way. His big break came with Vasanthabalan’s critically acclaimed Veyil in 2006. Since then, GV has bagged several awards for his work on films such as Aadukalam.
Here’s wishing the man of music a very happy birthday and wedded bliss in advance as well.
