Being the solo release this Independence Day, the film has set the cash registers ringing in both Kollywood and Tollywood
Suriya seems to have hit the bulls eye once again, as Anjaan seems to be following the footsteps of Singam 2. The Tamil superstars mass hero flick has been heavily benefited from its all out pre release promotional activities, as the film has done exceedingly well in both Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. We hear that N Lingusamy’s directorial has raked insane money at the box office, earning Rs 38 crore within the first three days of its release.
While film’s Telugu version, Sikinder, has earned Rs 8 crore, Anjaan has minted Rs 30 crore in three days. Trade experts believe that Suriya’s action entertainer has performed well as there was no competition for Anjaan and Sikinder in Kollywood and Tollywood box offices respectively. The gangster flick is roaring at overseas box office too, as reports claim shows going houseful at US, UK and Malaysia. Anjaan has made Rs 98.82 lakhs in US box office and Rs 67.54 lakhs in UK box office.
Anjaan starring Suriya, Samantha and Vidyut Jamwal has been panned by the critics and bad word of mouth publicity is expected to stall the film’s march in the second week. Will the film manage to attract the audience during weekdays and touch the magical figure of Rs 100 crore? Or will the Suriya magic fade in the days to come? Let’s wait and watch!
