Zee Cine Awards 2017: Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor put up a glitzy, starry show full of entertainment

Zee Cine Awards 2017 were aired tonight. And what a great show was put up by our favourite B-Town celebs. From Amitabh Bachchan to Alia Bhatt  – everyone upped the entertainment quotient of the night. It was not just the performances and awards, but there was so much for us in store tonight.

When Salman Khan gushed about Sridevi on stage, we totally resonated. Sridevi stepped on stage looking like a Goddess, and thanked her daughters for making her do films again. She then went on to release the teaser of her upcoming film Mom. And what a teaser it was! It totally stunned us to the core. Then of course how can we forget the moment when Anushka Sharma got on stage and narrated her story as an army kid! She was announcing the new initiative launched by Zee to support army wives. Audience could not stop applauding.

Amitabh Bachchan’s strong speech on ‘consent’ is still ringing in my ears. Even if half of his fans listen to the megastar and vow to bring about a change  in this society, women across the nation will start feeling safe and secure.

Then of course there were some mind blowing performances. My favourite was Salman Khan’s dance and singing performance. He should totally release his own version of Yaar Na Miley. It would have been no surprise if the fans of the actor sitting in the audience section started dancing with him during the act.  Sunny Leone’s act was also sizzling. She opened the night with her dance performance and gave us a glimpse at how awesome the rest of the night is going to be. Her retro fusion act totally took our breath away. Sunny was not the only one who took us back in time. There were Govinda and Raveena Tandon too, who transported us back to the 90’s with their act. Oh, the 90’s kid in me was so elated. Also Read: Zee Cine Awards 2017: Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan set the stage on fire -view pics

And of course, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s performance filled up for the millennials quota of the night.

Talking of honouring the best of the best, the awards were probably the most justified of the recent times. Only the best and very best were handed over the trophies. Well deserved. Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Pink, Sultan won the top honours for their performances that stood out in 2016.

Finally an honourable mention to Manish Paul to for being a fantastic host, and keeping the laughter coming after every 10 minutes.
