Trending Tunes: Nora Fatehi’s Dilbar and Janhvi Kapoor’s Dhadak are a hit this week – watch videos

Here is another roundup of the best songs of the week for you. We admit it. We did not see Dilbar trending so wildly for so many weeks when it released. But again you guys proved, it is you audience that holds the ultimate power to make something trend. Well, we can watch the sexy Nora Fatehi’s dance once again, I guess. So, she is leading the chart again. Then, thanks to its success, Dhadak’s title track is back to claim its top position. You never know, next Trending Tunes might feature it on the top. But for now, here is our pick of the songs you need to listen to begin your Sunday. And you know the drill… volume needs to be all the way up. Tell your neighbours what good music sounds like.

Dilbar – Satyameva Jayate

Hosh na khabar hai, ye kaisa asar hai? That is our feeling when we want to groove to this track now. What a hypnotising number. It grows on you. Nora Fatehi’s dance moves are awesome. Tanishk Bagchi has done it again. Recreated an old melody with the sensibilities of the new age music lovers. Also, Neha Kakkar and Dhvani Bhanushali’s voices blend to make this song a really sultry and hot one.

Dhadak

How is it possible that this song sounds even more beautiful after watching the film? I mean it is literally the same song. There are 76 million views on the song on YouTube right now. And c’mon, Trending Tunes deserves some credit there. We have been featuring it here for weeks. Okay, sorry! All credit goes to the sheer awesomeness of this medium romantic number. The team – music composer Ajay Atul, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and singers Ajay Gogavale and Shreya Ghoshal – have all worked hard to give us a song that will be cherished for decades to come. This will be the ‘old song’, listeners will turn to in the year 2050 when they want to appreciate art.

Paaniyon Sa – Satyameva Jayate

After Selfish, Atif Aslam really needed to redeem himself. Well, even Paaniyon Sa doesn’t do full justice to his talent, but we feel 4 more songs like this and fans will forgive him for the bad song earlier this year. Paaniyon Sa is a romantic melody that… just makes you feel good. The way the classical instruments and western music arrangement come together to create the song is commendable. The lyrics sound better in Tulsi Kumar’s voice.

Tareefan – Veere Di Wedding

Tareefan refuses to budge and remains steady on the chart despite new songs being launched every week. Qaran and Badshah have definitely struck the right chord with their audience and the fact that this groovy track continues to top the charts proves the same. Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan add the necessary sexiness to the video. The groovy number will instantly lift your mood.

Zingaat – Dhadak

So there has been enough chatter about the Marathi version of this song being better than the Hindi reprised version. But does that make this number any less popular? The answer is no. Zingaat with a Rajasthani touch seems to have an audience of its own and it retains its position on the charts. But we know your morning has already become zing, zing, zingaat!
