The Kaanchi director claims that he had signed the Heropanti actor when he was still a baby. Read on to know the full story
Tiger Shroff made his Bollywood debut with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti. However, before signing Nadiadwala’s film, the actor was offered the remake of the 1983 film Hero, which starred his father Jackie Shroff, by Subhash Ghai. Tiger rejected the offer and now we hear that Ghai had apparently signed the Heropanti actor while he was still a baby. Subhash Ghai jokingly told a daily, “When Tiger was born, I had sent Jackie a cheque of Rs 21,000. So, in a way I had signed him 20 years ago.”
To those who don’t know Ghai had directed the father-son duo years ago for a short video on national integration, Sara Bharat Yeh Kahe. However, it was Sajid who finally launched Jackie’s son. To this Ghai said, “That was because I was busy with Kaanchi for two years. But, Tiger came to me for my blessing when he signed his first film and I’m really happy about his success. The boy has a great future.”
He added, “By the end of the year I’ll start a film with Tiger in the lead. It’ll be a romantic film with lots of action. I haven’t decided on a name yet, but I’d like a younger director to helm it.” On being asked if Ghai will get the father-son duo to work together again, he said, “Why do you want me to divulge everything? Let there be some mystery left.”
Well, we’ve seen Jackie and Tiger in Ghai’s short video and they look simply adorable. We’d like to watch Tiger and Jackie in the same frame again. What about you, BollywoodLifers?
