Gear up people! We have a new tune to dance to and it’s thrummingly good
In an unusual turn of events, the makers of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Singh Is Bliing decided to introduce his character, Raftaar Singh, through a song and not a teaser or trailer. So a few weeks ago, we were treated to Diljit Disanjh singing to Sneha Khanwalkar’s beautiful and contemporary composition, Tung Tung Baje. I totally loved it. And then in the trailer, I heard a little bit of the song Singh & Kaur. My first impression was that it will be a very okay-ish song unlike the previous one. But the makers released the full song recently and I stand corrected.
Sung by Manj Musik and Nindy Kaur, the song is a super cool, foot-tapping number. I like such simple tunes that I can pick up easily and sing without sounding like a broken speaker. So I obviously liked the song very much. It is one of those songs that’ll stick around in your mind for a long time. And the rap by Raftaar too is quite catchy and quirky and some of it lyrics like ‘mere sar pe hai mera taj’ (referring to the turban) will make the song a sure shot winner with the Punjabi audience.
