Siddharth’s tweet forces clothing brand to remove the controversial ad featuring Ranveer Singh

It was only days ago, a clothing brand had put up bill boards of a new ad featuring Ranveer Singh. The billboard showed Ranveer Singh in a corporate avatar with a girl on his shoulder. The tagline read – “Don’t hold back. Take your work home.”Son after, Rang De Basanti actor took to social media to slam the ad. ‘A new low for women’s rights in the workplace in India. What were they thinking? #Fail’ stated the actor. His reaction set off quite an outrage. fans have criticised the concept and how.

Now the brand has actually reacted to this criticism and stated this – Regret that one of our billboards has caused distress, we did not intend to offend anyone. #NOTHOLDINGBACK and withdrawing it immediately. Very cleverly, they have managed to used their tagline in a completely different context and issue an apology. They even tweeted out to Siddarth. We are wondering what Ranveer has to say about all these recent developments.

Here are some of people who supported what Siddharth rightly pointed out:

Even Ranveer who featured in the ad issued a statement, “It was important to give the brand creative freedom while designing their campaign, but I guess we got it wrong on one of those billboards and I’m sorry this happened but it’s a thing of the past.. We rectified it immediately by having that hoarding taken down ASAP from everywhere over 30 cities overnight. I treat all women with the utmost respect both professionally and personally and would never do anything to disrespect them.” Also Read: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh leave Ambani’s party hand in hand – view HQ pics
