Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name Is Khan has completed seven years of its release. It was February 12 of 2010 that one of the Shah Rukh Khan’s most hard hitting films was released. The film told the story of an Indian muslim man who migrates to US and faces the aftermath of 9/11. He then takes it on himself to speak to the President of US and embarks on a cross country journey. Reminiscing about the release of the film Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter and stated that it’s sad that the film is not dated. And he is not wrong, it indeed is sad as nothing has changed in seven years and Islamophobia still exists in not just people of US but elsewhere as well. He tweeted, “It’s kinda sad too that MNIK is still relevant. But thx Karan Ravi Kajol SEL Shibani Niranjan Deepa Jimmy & all cast/crew for a special film.” He also thanked Karan Johar, Kajol, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Jimmy Shergill and others for the film. Not just Shah Rukh, Karan too tweeted about the film with the famous still of Rizvan Khan holding the placard that stated, “Repair Almost Anything”. He tweeted, “Thanks you Rizvan….for spreading your love …your message….your innocence….. #7YearsOfMyNameIsKhan”.
In case you are living under the rock and isn’t aware of the cinematic gem, that is My Name Is Khan. Check out who else endorsed the film. It’s none other than reknowned celebrated novelist Paulo Coelho. He even went on to state that Shah Rukh Khan’s performance was Oscar worthy. He tweeted with and image and the caption read, “”My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist” Congratulations @iamsrk for the 7th anniversary of this wonderful movie!” Also read: Shah Rukh Khan’s fierce kohl eyes BEAT Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan

Well, usually if the film is timeless and relevant, those associated with it, are usually happy but this film was based on a serious subject and like Shah Rukh Khan, I too hope, the film loses its relevance in near future.
