Sana Khan’s boyfriend finds himself in legal mess after ‘watching women’

Residents of a housing society in Oshiwara have lodged a police complaint against him for installing CCTV cameras without permission

Ismail Khan, boyfriend of Jai Ho actress Sana Khan has again landed himself in a soup. The complaint against him is of allegedly ‘watching women’ of the housing society in Oshiwara where he resides. Khan, who owns an apartment in Aroma Housing Society is accused of setting up CCTV cameras inside the building premises without prior permission. The man owns a flat in the building since 10 years now and claims that the CCTVs were installed for personal security around nine years ago. But the society has refuted his claims saying they were set up more recently, around four years ago. The society, of course, has separate cameras. Ismail has reportedly set up CCTVs at various spots. He said his car was vandalized years ago and he is within his rights to set up cameras within the premises. However, the society maintains that he has flouted the rules and women have been complaining that they are being watched lately.

Rajani Mayekar, a resident told Mumbai Mirror, “ In the past, the cameras did not bother us too much but when he made some alterations to his flat that flouted the BMC regulations, we approached the BMC. When he found out that we had complained, he tried to threaten us and from his conversations, we realised that he had been monitoring our movements. Then we decided to lodge a complaint.”

The matter has been taken up by filmmaker and activist Ashoke Pandit, who also has a property in the society. He has lodged a written complaint with the police commissioner, additional commissioner and chief minister.

“The ladies in our building have become conscious of what they are wearing and doing. Khan had applied for permission back in 2007 and despite our denying him, he went ahead and installed cameras,“ said Pandit to the tabloid.

It seems Khan had approached the ex-chairman of the society for permission but was denied so. Despite that, he went ahead and installed the cameras. The residents have been requesting him to remove them but he has not paid any heed. It seems Khan was allowed a camera outside main door but not one at the main gate.

A notice was sent to him on August 11 through an advocate and a complaint has had been filed with the Oshiwara police on August 25. Khan, reportedly could not show the permissions from the police and society. Stay tuned for more updates on Bollywood Life…
