Salman Khan’s Race 3 beats PK, Dhoom 3 to garner sixth highest opening weekend collections of all time

Salman Khan’s Race 3 is on a record-breaking spree. The movie has become the seventh film to enter the Rs 100 crore club in 2018. And the highest weekend grosser of 2018, beating Padmaavat. And here is another feather to the cap. Race 3 has garnered Rs 106.47 crore at the box office over its first three days. By doing so, the movie has landed a spot in the top 10 highest opening weekend collections of all time. It is now enjoying its number 6 spot on the list.

What comes as even more interesting is the fact that among the top 7 movies with the highest opening day collections, only two don’t belong to Salman Khan. The top spot is claimed by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion with Rs 127 crore (nett). On number 4 is Aamir Khan’s Dangal with Rs 104 crore (nett). And apart from these two, top 7 are all Salman Khan movies including Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Bahubali: The Conclusion – Rs 127 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai – Rs 114 crore

Sultan – Rs 105 crore

Dangal – Rs 104 crore

Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Rs 101.42 crore

Race 3 – Rs 101 crore

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – Rs 97 crore

Salman’s Race 3 has also become his fourth film to cross Rs 100 crore in three days after Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tiger Zinda Hai. We are sure in the coming days, the movie will shatter more box office records. Chances are good that it will be the highest grosser of 2019. Though, tough competition is impending in the form of Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju. The movie is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt and lead role has been essayed by Ranbir Kapoor. The movie is releasing on June 29, post which screen count for Race 3 will reduce.
Race 3 has been directed by Remo D’Souza. It also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Saqib Saleem, and Daisy Shah in key roles.
