Superstar Salman Khan‘s bodyguard, Shera, has finally got the much needed sigh of relief from Mumbai police as he has received the clean chit in the assault case he was accused of, the Bandra police investigating the case has concluded that the complaint registered against him by Attar Umar Qureshi is fake and is an attempt to blackmail. This comes after, Attar Umar Qureshi, the complainant had put allegations on Shera of physical assault where he had broken his collar bone by hitting him with the butt of a pistol after the bodyguard had a heated argument with Qureshi’s friend over the phone on October 25. Shera, who was detained by the DN Nagar police and booked under IPC 326, 503 and 504 had stated that, “On Tuesday, I went to meet a friend at Kokilaben Hospital and from there to Pop Tate’s which is where we had the verbal argument. I didn’t get down from my car so there is no question of hitting anyone.”
After the round of questioning by police, Shera had further revealed that someone tried to stop his car around 2 am near Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow and when he didn’t stop, he’d deliberately fallen down on the road in front of the car.
A senior police officer told a leading daily, “We started searching for witnesses and came across taxi and auto-drivers who in their statement reiterated that someone had fallen down on the road to stop a car and injured himself in the process.” Also read: Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera FINALLY breaks his silence over assault charges read statement
When Attar Umar Qureshi was confronted with the evidence, he had admitted that after the argument with Shera on the phone, he’d planned to beat him up that night and file a complaint to spoil his image. Police came to the conclusion that this attempt to blackmail may be to tarnish Shera’s boss and actor Salman Khan’s reputation and give him a chance to extort money from him.
Police is now planning to file a counter report in this case against Attar Umar Qureshi for filing a false complain.
