The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor is keen on getting the girl back to India
A few days ago we had reported how a hearing and speech-impaired girl, Geeta has been stuck in Pakistan for 14 years, and is unable to return back because she is not able to recollect her belongings. Since 14 years, Karachi run Edhi Foundation,Pakistan’s largest welfare organisation has been taking care of her. It could become a typical case of art imitates life as Bajrangi Bhaijaan shows how an Indian man goes out of his way to take a little Pakistani girl home across border. We wondered if Salman Khan could become a real Bajrangi here and it seems he did!
A few days ago Ansar Burney, Former Expert Advisor in the United Nations on Human Rights, Pakistan’s former Federal Minister for Human Rights and Senior Lawyer, tweeted that Salman actually got in touch with them to help Geeta.
At a recent media interaction when Salman was asked about this, the actor said, “I have heard about Geeta’s case…heard about the whole past and after the film, the case has come to life and we hope to find her real parents. I thank the people who have kept her safe till now. The government is also looking into it and it should resolve soon.”
So far, four families from Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand and UP have claimed that Geeta is their daughter.
