Rinku Rajguru aka Archie from Sairat was the girl who ruled the heart of Maharashtra at the time of her film’s release. And why not? A female protagonist in a Marathi movie who rides a Royal Enfield… well, that’s the girl you all look up to, or guys want to be associated with, right? That was Rinku in Sairat for us. She was bold, she was smart and quite daring. They say the first impression is the last impression and she just hit the bullseye. Audiences rooted for her for she was that daring lady who initiated every move. She was the one who broke the usual stereotype of a boy asking a girl out in the movies. Rinku isn’t your quintessential leading lady. She was slightly on the chubbier side, and she was unapologetic about it. However, that didn’t motivate her to stay in her la la land for she knew she had to work hard on it. She thought it would be great if she undergoes a makeover and not for what viewers want her to be. Rinku today looks like a diva, like any other actresses in her industry and we won’t be shocked if her room is flooded with numerous scripts from different filmmakers. It would be difficult to see a well-toned Janhvi step into Rinku’s shoes in Dhadak – a remake of Sairat. Tha raw look and fearless demeanour is missing in Karan Johar’s protege. Nonetheless, we hope Sridevi’s darling daughter is able to justify such a strong character purely on her acting skills since their looks are poles apart.
