After AR Rahman, Sridevi becomes the next celebrity judge to attend the show to promote Mom. The audience, judges, moms and even kids are charmed by the yesteryear diva. The evening begins with Shreyam Bhattacharya. His spectacular performance leaves the judges and even Sridevi very emotional. One of the judges even gives him a standing applause. Like always, Shreyam has given a brilliant act to remember. While still on stage, he complains of how he doesn’t eat right. To this, Sridevi makes him promise that he will do exactly as his mother wants and will also eat properly without any tantrums.
Another performance that stood out was Satyajeet Jena’s. Sridevi was so happy with his act that she couldn’t stop gushing. After the act, as he stated how he misses his mother’s food, Satyajeet was pleased to see his mother as the organisers held a small surprise. His mother came on stage with food for him. The entire audience was left in an emotional state.
Right after her own performance, Riya Biswas welled up and broke down. Not just her, everyone was left weeping as the act was extremely touching. Even Himesh Reshammiya lost his control over emotions as he tried to explain how often we take our mothers for granted. Neha Kakkar was then asked to sing her version of the song and in the middle of her performance, her voice breaks. Sridevi called Riya a ‘god gifted’ child because of the finesse in her act.
Sonakshi Kar was the next contestant. Post her performance, her mother requested the yesteryear actress to dance along with all the mommies in the house. Being a total sport, she went on stage and got along with the contestants’ mothers. Soon Yumna Ajin took centrestage and delivered a superb act as she sang to English Vinglish’s track, Navrai Maajhi, leaving Sridevi ecstatic. Being one of her favourite songs, the actress was really happy with Yumna’s performance. Soon it’s followed by the host trying to groove with Sridevi as he makes Jolly Mukherjee sing to Chandni’s title track. However, they are joined by Jayas, who writes the diva’s name on his arm, as he sings the same song. Impressed by this gesture, she kisses his hand. It’s all too cute!
The evening ended with Shreyam and Riya announced as best performers of the day. Considering how beautifully they sang their respective songs during both, Sridevi and AR Rahman’s episode, they rightfully do deserve it.
