This year has been a revelation of sorts in terms how less is more. By making effective and content driven films on controlled budget, filmmakers this year have managed to do something even superstars couldn’t. Budget emerged as the sole factor behind the success of many films. Be it Bareilly Ki Barfi or Shubh Mangal Saavdhan or Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. All these film kept their costs so low that within a few days, the makers had made their money including profits. On the other hand, big budget movies like Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal bit the dust because the audience couldn’t gel with it. So you might be wondering what could be the budget of the last film of this year, the wildly-anticipated Tiger Zinda Hai. Now we know. It is made at a cumulative budget of Rs 150 crore.

The landing cost of the film Rs 130 crore while P & A rests at Rs 20 crore. This brings the total to Rs 150 crore. The original film was made at a budget of Rs 75 crore approximately. That means more money has been pumped into the sequel to make it a big one. It’s a trend in Bollywood to up the budget of sequels by several notches and Tiger Zinda Hai was no exception. TZH has been shot in Abu Dhabi, Greece, Austria and others which has only added to the cost. Now that won’t be difficult for the film to recover because it has already created a huge buzz.
