Rishi Kapoor wishes Pakistan ‘Happy Independence Day’ and Twitter FREAKS out

If there’s one man who keeps Twitteratti engaged and entertained then it is Ranbir Kapoor’s daddy dearest. Rishi Kapoor is funny and wears his hearts on his tweets, like literally. No wonder the Sr Kapoor often finds himself amidst controversies. But this time around his tweet kind of had a bitter sweet effect on the micro blogging page. Chintuji posted a Happy Independence Day wish for all Pakistanis and soon this post got about over 1k comments. The actor of course might not have expected furor over his innocent wish. However, not all his tweets get misquoted and mistook. Of course there was backlash too, however most of those on the actor’s Twitter timeline took Kapoor senior’s wish as a message of peace. Here checkout what the actor put out yesterday night…

Of course, like we said earlier his timeline became the happening spot to be. There were some who corrected the actor and gave him a lesson on history, revealing facts of how Pakistan got independence on August 14 and not on August 13. There were others who debated whether the neighbouring state became independent or came into existence on the day. However, most of them exchanged wishes and thanked the actor for his gesture on social media.

This is not the first time Rishi Kapoor has tweeted about Pakistan. Neither is it the first time that the actor’s tweet has become a talking point. In fact, every other the day we see the actor taking on trolls on social media. For example this one here….

Or then when he tried to cheer for the Indian women’s cricket team, but ended up finding himself in a rather awkward spot with this tweet… (Also read: Rishi Kapoor gets into an ABUSIVE Twitter fight with Pakistani women)

Either ways, Rishi Kapoor is not a man to mince his words. We bet that he’d have an apt response for those who find an issue with his latest post. After all unlike most celebrities who use social media either to promote their upcoming films or then to post pictures, this hero does not mind keeping his thoughts and ideas out in the open.
