Reports suggest the film is based on the the lives of rap stars – Divine and Naezy. Well, no one better than Ranveer to take on a role and play it to perfection. He takes method acting to another level and leaves us convinced that he is that character, when the cameras are rolling. Last night he has shared a picture with Naezy, one of the rap stars. The caption reads – Aane Aane Aane De. For those who don’t know, it’s one of Naezy’s songs. The pic is giving us serious Gully boy vibes as the two show off an angry rebellious streak. Ranveer Singh will star opposite Alia Bhatt for the first time in Gully Boy. While the two have done plenty of ads together, they will debut on the silver screen with Zoya Akhtar’s film. Recent leaked pictures from their shoot in the slums of Mumbai gave us a glimpse into their dramatically different avatars – Alia sported a hijab while Ranveer played it a little too casual. For their fans, it was a dream come true to see them shoot together for a feature film finally. If this wasn’t enough, Ranveer Singh will also be rapping for this movie. Now that’s not hard to imagine is it? We can’t wait!
In other news, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Padmaavat, a magnum opus on the life of Rani Padmini. Despite the film being ridden with controversies prior to its release, the film stormed the box office once it hit theatres. It is currently the highest grossing movie of 2018. As for Alia Bhatta, she will be seen in Raazi this May, a a movie directed by Meghna Gulzar. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal.
