We had revealed to you earlier this year how Priyanka Chopra was all set to reunite with Abhishek Bachchan after nearly 9 years. The Dostana and Bluffmaster jodi is one of the most coolest and most adorable on-screen pairing that we absolutely adore. So when we heard that they will be a part of Shonali Bose’s next directorial, we got quite excited. But looks like there is an even bigger surprise for all of us. Rather than a typical love story of a couple, Priyanka and Abhishek will be seen playing parents to a very special child. Yes, Shonali’s next is inspired by a true-life story of Aisha Chaudhary. But who is playing Abhi and PeeCee’s daughter? It’s none other than Dangal actress Zaira Wasim. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actress will play the young protagonist, who battles her ailment to win the hearts of many.
For those of you who don’t know, Aisha was a motivational speaker and even had a book, My Little Epiphanies, to her name. Aisha was born with an immunodeficiency disorder and was also diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13. But despite so many health scares, the youngster faced life and shared with the world what gave her hope and control through her book and inspirational talks. She was also a speaker at TEDx Pune, but she tragically passed away in 2015 at the age of 18. Zaira would be playing the inspirational Aisha and Abhishsek – Priyanka her parents. Talking about this development, a source revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “Zaira really liked the script and has given her nod to the project. Shonali is currently busy with the pre-production and is hoping to start shooting by the middle of this year in Mumbai. Priyanka and Abhishek will play parents to Zaira’s character.” Though Shonali or Zaira have not confirmed or denied this, we are quite excited about the movie. Anyway, stay tuned to BollywoodLife as we get you more dope and updates about this special film right here.
