While fans are eager to know the story of the film, we have some hot goss on the well guarded plot of the film. Rumour has it that Baahubali is inspired from late Kannada superstar Rajkumar’s 1975 Kannada flick Mayura.

The story goes like this:

Prabhas plays Baahubali the king of Maahishmati and Anushka Shetty plays his wife Deva Sena. Rana Daggubati plays Prabhas’ evil brother Bhallaladheva. Bhallaladheva plots an evil plan along with minister played by Nasser and kills Baahubali. Now Bhallaladheva is the king of Mahishmati and he has enslaved Deva Sena. But fortunately Deva Sena and Baahubali’s infant son is fled away from the bloodshed.

After few years, this infant son grows to become an ardent Lord Shiva devotee, Shivudu, living in a small village. Once Rana’s daughter Avanthika played by Tamannaah visits Shivudu’s village, where he falls for her. Pursuing his love, Shivudu reaches Maahishmati where he gets to know his true identity. How he fights with Rana and wins over the kingdom forms the rest of the story.

Now we will have to wait for the reviews to come tonight to know if Baahubali is truly inspired from Mayura or not.
