Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty’s last movie, Dilwale, might not have been a hit at the box office, but Chennai Express was a huge success. It was Deepika Padukone’s most successful movie at the BO before Padmaavat hit the screens this year. Though we have heard stories of Rohit and SRK being at loggerheads after the debacle of Dilwale, the former has always dismissed them as ‘rumours’. There was a time when Rohit was finally done answering all the questions about his spat with SRK. In one of his previous interviews, the director was heard saying,“First I heard I am doing ‘Theri’ with SRK. Then I heard that the movie which I never announced, got shelved. Then I also heard that SRK and I fought. He is in America and I was in London. How can we fight?” Well, that we guess should put an end to all the rumours and speculations once and for all. Things were always hunky dory between this actor-director jodi. They may have some personal differences after Dilwale, but nothing more than that. Let’s not forget SRK’s sweet gesture for Rohit in 2013. Also Read: Ranveer Singh – Rohit Shetty’s Simmba avoids the MEGA box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Aanand L Rai film
After the release of Chennai Express, Rohit was gearing up to shoot Khatron Ke Khiladi and he had a 20-day long schedule in Cape Town. And the night when Rohit had his flight, Shah Rukh Khan came to his office on crutches to wish him luck and give him a handwritten letter. SRK had just met with an accident on the sets of Happy New Year and had to walk with the help of crutches. But that didn’t stop him from going all the way to Rohit’s office and wish him luck for his new reality show. Now, that’s SRK for you. We agree with Rohit when he said, “He (SRK) has the ability to charm his way into your heart. And only few people can make you feel special.” Also Read: Will Shah Rukh Khan be part of Rohit Shetty’s Angoor remake? The director reveals…
Rohit Shetty also feels that he should have stuck to the original script of Dilwale. From his first movie till Dilwale, he has never really changed his scripts. But after Kajol came on board, and because Shah Rukh and Kajol were coming together, he modified it to cater to the audience. That’s probably where he went wrong! Nonetheless it’s a thing of the past and they both have kept aside their differences.
