No item number for Jacqueline Fernandez in Salman Khan’s Hero remake?

Yes, you heard that right! Though the Kick actress was supposed to do an item number in Hero remake, as per the latest grapevine the makers of the film have canned the song altogether. But why? Read on to know…

Salman Khan’s production venture Hero starring Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty has been in the news ever since the film was announced. While everyone has been eagerly waiting for the two newbies to grace the big screen, the buzz around the project went up a notch when Jacqueline Fernandez gave her nod to do an item number in the film. Of course, the Ms Fernandez agreed to so because of Bhai. Initially, the Sri Lakan beauty had refused the offer but then she changed her decision on Salman’s insistence. In fact, last month Jacky even started practising for her item number but now we hear it won’t be incorporated in the film at all. Awww that’s sad, na?

While talking to a leading tabloid, a source said, “Jacky had started rehearsing for the item song with debutant actor Sooraj Pancholi last month. However, it is not happening anymore. The film’s director Nikhil Advani and the producers saw the rough cut and decided to skip the number as the film looks fine without it. Also, it would have unnecessarily made it lengthy.”

While we feel bad for Jacqueline, on the other hand, its good to know that there are filmmakers who believe in not adding an item number in their film just for the sake of it. After all, good films can do well even without special numbers, right?
