So tonight was the first ticket to finale task on Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 with the strongest set of final contenders namely – Hina Khan, Ritvik Dhanjani, Nia Sharma, Lopamudra Raut, Ravi Dubey, Shantanu, Monica Dogra. Of course, it goes without saying that each one of them have survived a tough battle with their consistent passion to win this season. However, before starting with the first task, Rohit Shetty decided to ask the team to rank top 3 contestants who they think deserve to be in the finale. While most of them believed Ritvik, Shantanu and Nia are the strongest. Hina chose to differ for she believes she’s better than Nia.
With the competition only getting tougher with every next task, here’s how the first ticket to finale task unfolded…
Task 1
Both the contestants were asked to go in two different boxes filled with dangerous spiders. The challenge was to basically pick keys by the help of mouth and pass it to the partner who has to then open 4 locks. Lopa and Ritvik went in first and performed exceptionally well. Their co-ordination was bang on but only until they reached the last key which fell flat in the box leaving Nia helpless. Monica and Ravi went in next and although initially it looked as if they have lost it but they nailed it by opening all the 4 locks and emerged as the winner in this task. With this, Ravi and Monica got one step closer to winning ticket to finale..
Task 2
This task was nothing short of a scene from a Rohit Shetty film. It basically had the contestant being tied to a jeep and dragged on the street with a bomb blast playing the hurdle. The twist was to leave the jeep soon after the blast and land at a finish point. Lopa went in first and did it pretty smoothly, although she crossed the finish spot and went a little ahead of the said mark. Hina went second and equally aced the challenge. But Shantanu was the one who literally made everyone’s jaws drop by exactly landing on the mark and winning the task! With this Shantanu, Ravi and Monica qualified to take up the ticket to finale task.
Task 3
The final task was basically to close the Walts of a swimming pool by going underwater, It was a time restrained one with just 4 minutes to close all the 5 Walts. Monica went in first and we must say, she was quite a surprise package. She didn’t give up until the end and almost opened all the walts. Next was Ravi who for all that we know is a very calculative player and as rightly so, he performed like a pro. But the biggest shocker was Shantanu who unexpectedly backed out from performing. He aborted the task within few minutes due to panic, making it easier for Ravi to emerge as the winner!
