Here is a look at couples from TV who made our hearts melt
Passionate hugs, never-ending eye-locks, slight touches and loads of anticipation, romance on TV charms despite its limitations. There are couples who make us laugh, cry and fall in love with them. Fans curse the makers when they see episodes that don’t feature them or express their adulation through fan fiction. Here is a look at some of TV’s most loveable jodis this year:
Manik and Nandini from Kaisi Yeh Yaariyaan
Fan moniker: MaNan
Ever since the dashing Manik (Parth Samthaan) met the charming Nandini (Niti Taylor), their chemistry has been the talk of the town. This year, the romance and intimacy (read passionate smooches) factor was upped by the makers, which made the fans go crazy. So, it was not surprising that MaNan fans took social media by storm when the handsome hunk quit the show. He was quickly brought back but the second innings too is a short one as he will be leaving KYY2 for his upcoming film.
Ishaani and Ranveer from Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi
Fan moniker: IshVeer
This year was a particularly turbulent one for the good-looking couple with Ishaani going to jail for Chirag’s murder, Ritika’s devious scheming and now Milan’s evil intentions. In fact, the romance quotient between Ranveer (Shakti Arora) and Ishaani (Radhika Madan) has been quite low. However, they created magic every time with those eye locks and emotionally charged sequences. Our personal favourite is the sequence outside the court when Ranveer goes to finalise his divorce.
Sanskaar and Swara from Swaragini
Fan monikers: SwaSan, VaHe, HeRun
When an unforgiving, brooding and angry Sanskaar Maheshwari (Varun Kapoor) decided to let go of his demons, he only found love and respect for his pawn, Swara (Helly Shah). Varun’s intensity and Helly’s cuteness perfectly complement each other to create a sizzling chemistry onscreen, which has earned them a huge fan following. They share a superb bond off-screen, which adds to the X-factor in Swaragini.
Abeer and Meher from Phir Bhi Na Maane…Badtameez Dil
Fan moniker: MehBeer
A separated couple Abeer (Pearl V Puri) and Meher (Asmita Sood) meet after years at the same workplace. Ego clashes take place, old memories are revived and sparks fly. The show did not enjoy a long innings on Star Plus but fans loved their pairing, which is why it made a comeback as a web-series on Hotstar. The handsome Pearl and gorgeous Asmita looked fabulous together. Dating rumours are doing the rounds but nothing’s confirmed so far.
Siddharth and Roshni from Jamai Raja
Fan moniker: SidNi
One of the best looking couples of TV, the kind-hearted Sid (Ravi Dubey) and bubbly Roshni (Nia Sharma) are too much in love with each other. Though Roshni does have a temper she melts easily when Sid woos her. Now, we are seeing her with Raghu, the look-alike of Sid.
Ishita and Raman from Yeh Hain Mohabbatein
Fan moniker: IshRa
One of the more unusual love stories on TV, Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita’s (Divyanka Tripathi) relationship is formed by Ruhi (Ruhanika Dhawan). This year, we saw love blossoming between the two and finally their marriage was consummated. While fans can make do without their romance, it’s their nok-jhok that they love.
Ranaji and Gayatri from Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani
While Rana Indravardhan (Siddhant Karnick) hated his second wife Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) at the start, he slowly warmed upto her and how! Viewers love their nok-jhoks and the romantic vibe that builds up when they get closer. The classic style just adds to the charm on Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani.
Abhi and Pragya from Kumkum Bhagya
Fan moniker: AbhiGya
While the story drags on like anything, Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) redeem the show whenever they share screen space. Abhi’s cool dude avatar is a complete contrast to Pragya’s nerdy one but like they say, opposites attract. While she is acting miffed right now, there’s no denying the love that she has for her hubby.
