Jiah Khan was only 25 years old and still an aspiring actor, when she was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her apartment. Her family believed that she was murdered, even though the evidence at that time pointed towards suicide.
Investigations brought up the name of her then boyfriend – Suraj Pancholi, son of popular actor Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. After confirming the death as suicide, the police let Suraj go and shut the case. But Jiah’s mother, Rabia Khan pleaded for support from people, media and networking sites to check the cause of death again.
The Kalina Forensic Laboratory found some shocking details after checking in detail, which compelled the judicial system to re-open the case. The family is yet to get the justice they deserve and find Jiah’s murderer. But even before the verdict is out, the makers of Life OK’s Savdhaan India are showcasing their story as a crime special.
While this will definitely garner some attention back to the case, would it be wrong to say that the makers are rushing this a little too soon? What if, Rabia doesn’t get the justice she seeks? Savdhaan India has roped in actors Kunal Verma and Vaibhavi Upadhayay to play the respective characters of Suraj and Jiah in the dramatic narration of the story. They will not be using the real name of the victim and the family, but it’s not like people won’t know.
We wonder, how the makers will conclude the episode – will they play the blame game and end it with a speculative twist or will they go ahead and blame Suraj? Guess we will only know once the episode goes live, right!
