The lady has been playing the damsel in distress so far…
Jacqueline Fernandez is part of three action films due for release —Dishoom, A Flying Jatt and then the film with Sidharth Malhotra. But she won’t be doing any action in these films.
Part of adventure, not action
In Dishoom, she’s part of the action scenes with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham but isn’t going to be landing any kicks and punches. She explains, “It is like an action-adventure film, so, predominantly it’s the boys doing the action, but since I am a part of the adventure they embark on, I am also part of those action scenes that feature the two. But I don’t have any action scenes, per se.”
Damsel in distress
She adds, “In A Flying Jatt, too, there’s no room for any action for me. Tiger will be doing all the high-octane stunts, whereas I play the damsel in distress,” she reveals. But she quickly adds with a chuckle, “He’s doing all of it for me in the film, by the way.”
‘I have an action bod’
Her untitled action bonanza with Sidharth Malhotra won’t feature Jackie in fight scenes either, informs a production source, saying, “The action will only be done by Sidharth in the film. Jackie plays his love interest but she doesn’t have any action scenes.”
Jackie stresses that just because she doesn’t have action scenes doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to do them. “I think I have an athletic body, the pre-requisite to doing great action on screen. I would love to do some adrenaline-pumping action scenes myself. I hope, in my next few films, I get a chance to do that because I just love kicking a**,” she laughs.
With Karan Johar’s production opposite Sushant Singh Rajput already in her kitty (that involves a lot of car chases and action scenes), hope Jackie gets to show off her skills!
