Italian actress Valentina Corti joins Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Tannishtha Chatterjee’s directorial debut

The versatile and talented actor of Bollywood Nawazuddin Siddiqui is easily one of the busiest stars in the industry. The Gangs of Wasseypur actor, who impressed us with his mind-boggling performance in the recent Netflix series Sacred Games is currently Rome shooting for actress turned director Tannishtha Chatterjee’s debut directorial venture. Now the makers have roped in Italian actress Valentia Corti to play a pivotal role in the film. Nawaz introduced to us through his Twitter account by posting a selfie with her and captioning it, “Ye Ladki mere ‘ रोम रोम में ‘ hai”. Since the plot and character details are kept under the wraps, we are not sure she’ll be pairing opposite Nawaz or not.

The film is currently in production stage in Rome and is produced by Eros International, Rising Star Entertainment, Ravi Walia and Pankaj Razdan. It is expected to hit the screens in early 2019. On the work front, the trailer of Nawazuddin’s Manto was released a month back. Talking about his film Manto, it is a historical period drama film about the controversial writer Saadat Hasan Manto who is known for his writings around the partition of India and Pakistan. The film is directed by acclaimed actor-director Nandita Das, who previously helmed Firaaq and also stars Paresh Rawal, Rishi Kapoor, Rasika Dugal and Tahir Raj Bhasin in pivotal roles. Apart from Manto, the actor also has films like Genius, ’83, and Ghoomketu. The actor is also making his Tamil debut with director Karthik Subbaraj’s untitled, where he is sharing screen space with stalwarts like Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi.
