Is Prithviraj’s Vimaanam inspired by Ayushmann Khurrana’s Hawaizaada?

Prithviraj will be seen as an airplane inventor in Vimanam soon. Today, the poster of the film was released. That made us wonder if it has anything to do with the 2015 dud Hawaizaada starring Ayushmann Khurrana. The latter was a biopic on Shivkar Bapuji Talpade, who was famous for inventing the first unmanned aeroplane. Prithviraj’s film also looks like an inspiration of the same. But if reports are right, the film has been in the making for a long time now and is based on another person who had similar dreams. It will release on Christmas this year.

Vimaanam is a story about Shaji M Thomas who toiled really hard to make his own aeroplane. Prithiviraj will play the protagonist in the film. It is written and directed by Pradeep M Nair and is produced by Listin Stephen. It also stars Nedumudi Venu, Shanthi Krishna, Sudheer Karamana, Anarkali Marikkar and Baby Durga Premjith in crucial roles. It has been mounted on a big scale. The film will have two time periods and rumours suggest Prithviraj has even lost a lot of weight to play the character. The film has been shot in Bhatkal, Mangalore, Delhi, Kottayam and Idukki.

There are two distinct connection between the Bollywood and Malayalam film. One, they are biopics on real life people and second, both deal with making an aircraft. It could just be a coincidence but we couldn’t shake off the feeling that there could be some connection between the two. Check out the motion poster right here…

Now it will release on Christmas which means it will clash with Tiger Zinda Hai. Honestly, the motion poster looks damn neat and Salman Khan’s might not pose any threat for the film.
