Housefull 3 is already the highest earning installment of the franchise – find out how!

The film is poised to earn much more than the earlier releases…

Housefull is a franchise which is perhaps the most anticipated one in the country. That’s because it promises a lot of things. First of all, Akshay Kumar and his bang on comic timing. He is just fab in such films. Hera Pheri, it seems, bared a side of this actor which was dormant till then and we couldn’t thank that film enough. Apart from that, the series has always been a multi-starrer one which means ek ticket pe bahut saare stars. But the biggest takeaway of these films are the gags. They are just outrageously hilarious. It may not be the film for people who need an actual funny joke to crack up but those who will burst out laughing anytime they want. And thus the films have always earned well but it seems Housefull 3 is poised to be the biggest hit in the franchise if the first day collections of all three are taken into consideration.

Housefull which released in 2010, minted a good 10 crore in its opening day which was a great deal a few years back. It was Akshay Kumar’s highest opener till then. Its opening weekend collection of 29. 80 cr was only second to 3 Idiots that year. It collected 52.30 cr which was the second highest opening weekend collection in 2010 after My Name Is Khan. Clearly, the first film was a gold mine. But if you go over the figures of the second film, these will look minor.

Housefull 2 opened with 14 crore in 2012, made a opening weekend collection of 42.50 crore and wrapped the first week with 64 cr. It was the first film in the franchise to enter the 100 crore club and make 106 crore lifetime collection.

But it seems Housefull 3 is poised to topple that too. The film has made 15. 21 crore on Day 1 and is poised to have a 50 crore weekend if trade analyst Taran Adarsh is to be believed. He had tweeted that if the Saturday and Sunday bring in good moolah, 50 crore won’t be too far.

Should they pop the bubbly already? Why not, we say!
