Box office is definitely happy with this student of Karan Johar…
Sidharth Malhotra is all of four films old and he has already amassed a good deal of fan following. His boyish looks coupled with macho image has really caught on with the audience especially with the girls who can’t stop drooling over him. It’s been sometime that we saw a tall and handsome guy scorching on silver screens. In fact, his spell on the audience is so impressive that even box office smiled on him a lot in last three years. Hence, we thought of consulting our trade analyst Akshaye Rathi about what the box office has to say about the birthday boy. Turns out, it’s all good and great at the box office for the actor.
When asked what he thinks about Sidharth’s box office run so far, Akshaye says, “His films have been successes, be it Hasee Toh Phasee or Ek Villain. Student Of The Year of course was a Karan Johar success than Sidharth, Varun Dhawan or Alia Bhatt’s. He so far has a fairly good track record. He has a certain fan following and people come to watch his films. But I feel it’s way too early to analyse his career. It’s early days for him but yes, it looks like good path ahead.”
It was natural to ask him what does the ‘path’ ahead looks like with two of his films Kapoor & Sons Since 1921 and Baar Baar Dekho already creating a good buzz and Rathi assures, “Both belong to the rom-com space. Kapoor & Sons Since 1921 is tightly budgeted and smartly made film. I don’t think there’s any chance to loose money here. For this film which stars Alia, Sidharth and Fawad (Khan) who are less than 5 years old, it’s a wise idea to make films cheap even if they do phenomenal business. It’s always good to be in the zone of Aashiqui 2 where you make a 10-11 cr film and collect a 90 cr nett. As for Baar Baar Dekho, it has Sidharth and Katrina Kaif who are very popular among the youth and moviegoers of the country. Although it’s too early to say anything about it without watching a single frame of the film, it’ll be an interesting film what with Excel Entertainment and Dharma Productions collaborating.”
So Sidharth, you will definitely have a great year ahead and on that note Happy Birthday!
