Deepika Padukone has been on the top of her game since the past year or so. She has been appreciated by fans and critics alike for her superb performance in this week’s release Finding Fanny. But there is something that made the leggy lass angry on a lazy Sunday morning. Want to know what? A ‘leading’ daily.
Yeah! You heard it right. Celebs try to never badmouth the media people because they know for a fact that they are the ones who build a career and also have the potential to destroy one. However, what this ‘leading’ newspaper did, hit Deepika a bit below the belt. When everyone is praising Deepika for a wonderful performance in Finding Fanny, this ‘leading’ newspaper decided to grab some eyeballs by posting a video on their online portal of the heroine which showed a bit of her cleavage. The video was however very old. There were many other heroines whose similar videos were also posted in the same video article. All of which didn’t go well will the heroine and she got furious and lashed out at the ‘leading’ daily.
Deepika tweeted, “Supposedly India’s ‘LEADING’ newspaper and this is ‘NEWS’!!??”. She attached a snap of the article along with this tweet and further elaborated on her anger by tweeting, “YES!I am a Woman.I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??Dont talk about Woman’s Empowerment when YOU don’t know how to RESPECT Women!” Many celebs have retweeted Deepika’s tweet and expressed their support in favour of her. Ranvir Shorey tweeted, “Respect, @deepikapadukone, for taking on this bullshit. More power to you.”
Now that is something we support wholeheartedly. Had the leading daily posted the video a year back when Chennai Express released (when the footage was actually taken), it would have made sense, but digging things out of the past and trying to grab some eyeballs in the present is something really below the belt. We hope other celebs also let their anger out and not shy away from opening up just for the fact that some ‘leading’ news daily is involved in it.
