Ekta Kapoor brings Black Mirror to Indian shores with a desi spin

All you Black Mirror fans might not be too thrilled about this, but those who have watched Ekta Kapoor’s show on ALT Balaji, there is another set of new shows that you should be excited for. The producer and TV Czarina has launched some really out-of-the-box and good shows on the digital platform. Be it The Test Case or Haq Se or Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat, the digital platform has a plethora of shows that you must watch. RJ Alok on Twitter announced that ALTBalaji is going to announce a show called Gandi Baat, which will have urban stories from rural India.

Ekta responded to the tweet and said that it’s our very own version of popular Netflix series, Black Mirror. Now that’s one interesting concept. The show will have 10 episodes, each one of them revolving around taboos and stories from rural India. It will have stories from taboos to relationships, to everything that’s looked down upon by the society. It will explore topics and stories that exist in every section of the society but are never spoken about or discussed openly. Now that’s something we bet Ekta wanted to explore for a really long time. It will be quite interesting to watch this show. Based on what has been said about the concept of the show, we can say that it’s nothing like Black Mirror. The Netflix show revolves around technology and all of the episodes are fictitious. It’s sci-fi on another level, technology that hasn’t even been invented yet. We see no resemblance of Gandi Baat to Black Mirror. But we are quite excited to find out more about the show.
