Does Akshay Kumar have a special clause for heroines? Watch EXCLUSIVE video interview to find out

Off late there has been a trend with Akshay Kumar films. No, we don’t mean that the actor has opted for movies with a message or then the fact that his films do great business at the box office. What we are talking about is that in his last few movies the actor has not repeated his heroines. So. when we caught up with the Toilet Ek Prem Katha actor recently during his film’s promotions we quizzed him if he has any specific heroine clause in his contract. Akshay begged to differ and defended himself, he said, “It is not like that. I have done with a lot of actors four to five films. Last two years may be like that, but in my career I have worked in four, five films with the same actress.” We further probed the actor and asked if he has a rule about his co-stars and we got a curt “NO” as response.

Akshay’s TEPK co-star Bhumi Pednekar sure seems to have benefited from the actor being open to working with new talent. Akshay revealed how Bhumi came on board for the recent release ahead of him, he said, “Toilet Ek Prem Katha, which was supposed to be Sandaas – Ek Prem Katha. All things combined I felt I wanted to do this film. I was intrigued about the fact that, she (Bhumi) didn’t even know I was the actor in it. When she had heard about the script she said a yes without knowing that I was there. When she got to know, then she started thinking whether I should do it or not.”

Bhumi just couldn’t control her laughter when Akshay tried to egg her with this statement. The actress said, “Not at all. I was jumping with joy. I said yes! I mean who would have thought, my second film like a film like Toilet and with Akshay sir, I think my family with joy more.”

Khiladi Kumar also went on to burst the myth about him taking up only movies with a message now. He said, “It is not that I want to take up something with an issue. I want to take up something which is always entertaining and fun. I should enjoy it. If I can enjoy it then people can enjoy it. It is not like I want to find something that has an issue. It is not like that. The projects just come to me. There is a movie (2.0) where I am playing a villain, what do I teach in that?” (Also watch: Flush It or Keep It? Well, we’re sure that after seeing Akshay‘s this statement on heroine clause many of his previous co-stars would be elated.
