Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s on-screen chemistry became talk of the town ever since they debuted with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year. By the time their next rom-com, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, was out the two were already being rumoured to be an item. But it wasn’t the audience alone who was impressed by their sizzling chemistry, filmmakers to are digging it. The two were roped in for a third time to play on-screen lovers for Karan Johar’s Shuddhi. And now we hear that Mani Ratnam too wanted to cast the two in his romantic drama, OK Kanmani. Oh yes!

OK Kanmani which stars Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen, garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. The Tamil film became an instant hit. But you might not know that it was originally going to be a Bollywood flick with Alia and Varun playing the leads. Reportedly, the filmmaker was in talks with the two but for some reason nothing materialised. So Ratnam went ahead with the Tamil version of the film.

Despite rumours of a bitter break-up, the two have never shied away from working together. So we guess if a Hindi remake of OK Kanmani is ever made, the filmmaker can get his wish, right?
