Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor’s Dhadak has enjoyed a great opening week at the box office. After getting a humongous first weekend, the romantic drama remained rock-steady in the weekdays. The film raked in Rs 51.56 crore in its first week and we are expecting it to cross Rs 60 crore mark by the end of its second weekend.

Since today three films – Nawabzaade, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Mission Impossible: Fallout has hit the screens, Dhadak has faced a huge screen crunch at the ticket windows. Apart from the audience, Janhvi and Ishaan have received praises from Bollywood members like Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan and many others. The film is on its way to beat Student of the year and become the highest grosser of the film featuring newcomers. Dhadak is the official remake of Nagraj Manjule’s Marathi blockbuster Sairat, which crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan, who previously helmed films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. It is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions and also stars Ashutosh Rana, Ankit Bisht and Aishwarya Narkar in pivotal roles.
