Contrary to reports, Amitabh Bachchan’s legal team clarifies that the tax evasion case has NOT been reopened!

The actor has landed in trouble with the IT department

Amitabh Bachchan is one actor whose name is being mired in financial controversies, one after the other. First his name cropped up in the infamous Panama papers and now there have been reports that Big B has now landed in trouble with the IT department for stating his income incorrectly in 2001. If you are eagerly waiting to see what is the story from the other side, then wait no more for the actor’s legal advisors team have come up with a clarification.

The primary allegation on Big B has been that he failed to pay Rs 1.66 crores tax for his famous game show Kaun Banega Crorepati. But Amitabh’s team clearly stated that this case has got nothing to do with KBC whatsoever. Next, they made an bigger revelation by stating that the case has not actually been reopened by the Supreme Court. There were rumours doing the rounds that the tax evasion case has been reopened by the IT department with the Apex court’s permission. Looks like that is not the case.

The third and final clarification they made may come as relieving news for fans of the megastar. The Supreme court has granted Amitabh the right to appeal against the reopening and reassessment of the case. So, this means that not only the case has not been opened, but Big B has the chance to even prevent the reopening of the case by the IT department.
