Did you miss the madness of Global Citizen Festival? Because we got the entire live updates of what happened, right here! Anyway, for many might have come across this piece of information thanks to spoilers, that Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin sang Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s famous song, Channa Mereya on the stage. Well, to be quite frank, he did sing a lot of Hindi numbers when he was on the stage. Perhaps, he wanted to blow minds of his fans here in India. Or maybe he was asked to do the same. But the fact that this song was chosen by him in itself is a big, and by that I mean, BIG compliment to singer, Arijit Singh. Don’t you think it is quite awesome? Basically, what he did was he mixed A Sky Full of Stars from his own album with Arijit’s Channa Mereya. But of course, the bigger news is the fact that Mr Martin chose this very song from the hit ADHM album.
First off, it’s a huge compliment to the singer himself, who also performed at the event. The coolest part is how Arijit Singh started his performance by singing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, yes the biggest hit at the chartbusters this year (so far, well). The event was started in the first place by the celebrated singer. He kickstarted by humming and singing the famous track of Ae Dil. Now having started the event with so much awesomeness, the end had to be the same, right? Which is exactly how it happened. As Coldplay took on the stage by the evening, it was a total riot as fans went berserk. A dream come true moment for a lot of celebs and fans, to be quite honest.
Anyway, they started with a lot of songs from their own composition. However, soon Martin switched from his English roots to Hindi as he sang a few tracks of Bollywood. Well, to be quite frank, it was a nice blend the band created as they mixed Hindi tracks with their songs. Ae Dil’s Channa Mereya was fused with A Sky Full of Stars and yes, with MMRDA full of them at the moment, it was worth all the noise! Everybody was ecstatic and happy with the way Chris Martin performed the songs. We have a video as proof to show how beautiful it sounded. Of course, it was a little surprising but perhaps that’s what he wanted to do for his Indian fans. You can check out the video right here.

Coldplay finally brought an end to the Global Citizen festival as he and Oscar winning music composer, AR Rahman played and sang Vande Maataram onstage. It was a perfect end to such an initiative. As both Rahman and Martin jammed to the celebrated music composer’s tunes, fans were on a totally different trip. They couldn’t have asked for a better end to the event. While the event as a whole received a lot of disappointed reactions but Coldplay wasn’t one of them at the receiving end! People loved the Brit band.
