Where there are celebrities, there is bound to be controversy. And where there are our Bollywood actors there definitely gotta be controversies…
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat are few common faces at the Cannes Film Festival over the last few years. And each of these pretty ladies at some point found themselves embroiled in controversies that became hot topic of discussion and sometimes even made headlines. Katrina Kaif is going to join these ladies now and guess what even before marking her debut she fired up her entrance with a dash of cat fight! So, here’s a look at our B-towners who found themselves dabbling questions
First up is Ranbir Kapoor’s ladylove who’s all set to join the pretty lasses on the red carpet this year. With so much talk around her much awaited Cannes debut, Kat was quizzed if she would take tips from Aishwarya Rai and Sonam for her fashion outing at Cannes. And guess what while Katrina went on and on about Sonam, without even mentioning Ms Rai Bachchan, the babe made a sly remark at Aishwarya who she’s often compared to. Katrina said, “I definitely intend to keep in touch with Sonam, get her feedback and tips. But beyond that I think if I was trying to emulate or copy someone, that would be wrong.”
Sonam Kapoor has now become a pro at courting controversies. So, when Anil Kapoor’s darling daughter was roped in as the brand ambassador for a brand that was previously endorsed by Ash in 2009 there were also reports suggesting that she would walk the red carpet alongside the former Miss World. However, Sonam’s big plans got quashed badly and Sonam accused Aishwarya of foul play. Sonam even said in an interview, “Aishwarya is an aunty from another generation.” Well, Aishwarya stayed mum for sometime, but then her response must have silenced Sonam forever…
Mallika Sherawat’s name had to feature in this list. Apart from Aishwarya Rai, she’s the only other celebrity that manages to hog limelight alongside Hollywood biggies. But it wasn’t her naughty poses with Jackie Chan or then super revealing outfits that find Ms Sherawat in this list. The Dirty Politics heroine’s this statement got her a spot on CNN, but also earned her a lot of flak back home. Ms Sherawat said at Cannes red carpet in 2013 that India was a “regressive nation for women”. Must we should be celebrating Mallika’s shift to LA and are more than happy to not be bombarded with her sleazy nonsensical films and comments! Well, after watching this video we’re sure her comments would be as ridiculed as her accent. Don’t forget to catch her white lies about kissing on screen and wearing bikini.
These were B-town babes who were controversial. But guess what it was equally controversial when last year a brand that Aishwarya and Sonam endorse decided to crop the two heroines out of their latest print ad and instead only retained Frieda Pinto along with other international ambassadors in their final commercial. We’re sure both Ash and Sonam were not very please with this omission.
