In the last few months, fans have been gushing about one south couple – they are cute, adorable and have looked great together even on screen. That’s Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya for you. All people want to know is when they are going to get hitched! This onscreen couple had already cast a spell on their fans with their first appearance in 2010 – Ye Maye Chesave as Karthi and Jesse. Just to think, the reel-life couple is going to get real is too good to be true! But here’s the thing, Samantha’s fairy tale romance was actually for real, with somebody else, three years ago. Before Sam-Naga happened, it was Sam-Sid!
Yes, Jabardast brought Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Siddharth together. They were going strong for two and half years. It was only in January 2015, that the industry was shocked to know, the famous Sam-Sid were parting ways. Even now, people don’t know what went wrong with the couple but reports suggest, it was Siddharth’s growing closeness to a certain Kannada actress that may have caused the split. He had helped her bag a role in a certain film and also that they would hang out together.
Also, according to what a source told a leading portal, he would keep a tab on the current hottest woman and his roving eye worsened matters. In fact, Sam-Sid were to get married, but reportedly, people close to Samantha were not sure of him and his ways. When they had broken up, media house had projected her to be heart-broken which didn’t go down well on Sam. She pointed out to an article in a certain publication and said this – Siddharth is a great guy. Media stop taking sides. This is personal. STOP.”
There were problems on Siddharth’s end as well. He apparently wasn’t too happy about her growing glamorous avatar in her films. He reportedly was not too pleased when she sported a bikini in Anjaan. There were reports that Sam’s friendliness with everybody was not something he liked too much either.
But through all this, the couple never confirmed their relationship not their break up. They didn’t even drop hints until this one time last year on November 26th when Siddharth had tweeted out this –
Apparently, there was a quick reply from Samantha saying this – ‘That moment when I realise you’re just somebody I used to know.’ She soon deleted it but it didn’t go unnoticed. If you notice, this was three days after Naga Chaitanya’s birthday. She had tweeted out then
Did her calling Naga, the closest person to her, have something to do with Siddharth tweeting three days later? One can never say but it makes you think nonetheless.

But now, that’s in the past because from the looks of it, Sam-Naga are going to take their relationship to the next level really soon. Their public appearance at a recent wedding spoke volumes, especially when she greeted his family. So, it’s about time, that Nagarjuna makes an announcement about them, but he did mention it’s up to his sons to decide when they want to get married. So, hoping, the couple takes the plunge soon!
