The actor enjoyed a 20-day break after five years of working non-stop

One needs to compromise on a lot of things to become a TV star. Shashank Vyas who is famous as Jagya from Balika Vadhu enjoyed his first 20-day holiday in five years touring the US. He visited New York, New Jersey and Manhattan. The actor says he did not find anyone great to give him company and hence took the trip alone. One of the highlights of his trip was the sky-diving experience. He says, “It was a fantastic experience. I went for shark diving too but they said it’s off season. It is considered as one of the best adventure sports.”

Single in the city
It was a good escape from the October heat of Mumbai. The actor says it is the the best season to roam in US with sunny mornings and chilly nights. The actor confesses that he is not averse to the idea of travelling alone. He explains, “There is no harm in travelling solo. If I get bored in Mumbai, I would go to Goa, sit in a room or wander on beaches. It is perfectly fine by me. I am not a hippie per se, there are some places where I love to go with my friends. I listen to people, I talk to them while travelling. I am not very introverted. I made a few friends from India who are studying over there, two guys from Manhatten and two friends from Pakistan.”

No diet blues
Being a vegetarian, did Shashank face any food issues in the US. He gorged on salads and omelettes and is now addicted to black coffee. He loved the hearty English breakfast served at cafes, especially pancakes. This holiday has left Shashank recharged and with a new attitude towards life.

Broadening horizons
He says, “I wanted to travel as I needed time with myself. Be it my visits to Bangkok, Leh-Ladakh or to the US, each place brought about some self-discovery. I think everyone should travel in every six months as travelling expands your thought process. There is more to life than just thinking about Naigaon
