Baahubali 2 fails to beat Bajrangi Bhaijaan; becomes the second biggest Indian release in China

After setting new benchmarks in the Indian market, Prabhas and Anushka Shetty starrer Baahubali 2 is all set to release tomorrow in China. The film has already recorded the highest number of ticket sales in advance booking and we are expecting it open it with big numbers at the Chinese ticket windows. While the film is termed as a record-breaker but surprisingly, it has failed to beat Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The Kabir Khan’s cross-border drama which hit the screens a few months back in China was released in 8000 screens, while the SS Rajamouli magnum opus is released in 7000 screens.

The Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan has grossed around Rs 295 crore in China, so it’ll be interesting to see how Baahubali 2 performs there. Baahubali 2 also features Rana Daggubati, Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj and Nassar in pivotal roles. The Hindi version of the film had collected Rs 511 crore during its theatrical run making it the biggest blockbuster of all time. Apart from ruling the box office, the film also garnered many accolades including 2 National Awards. Aamir Khan is considered as the box office king in China as his both films Dangal and Secret Superstar turned out to be a huge money-spinner there. While Dangal had collected over 1200 crore, Secret Superstar, went to earn over Rs 800 crore. Well, by looking at the trend, we are sure that Baahubali 2 will repeat its success history in China.
