Avengers: Infinity War beat these Aamir Khan and Salman Khan movies to become the 10th highest opening day grosser

Avengers: Infinity War has achieved the unbelievable. The movie has opened to rave reviews on April 27. Fans are flocking theatres to watch the movie ASAP. It is getting tougher by the minute to land a couple of tickets for this movie. No wonder, it has emerged as the winner at the Indian box office. The movie has collected Rs 31.3 crore on its opening day becoming the highest opening day grosser of 2018, beating Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2. But that is not all. With that thunderous response to the movie has also managed to become the tenth highest opening day grosser of all time. Here is a quick breakdown of the numbers.

The movie has beaten the opening day collections of the biggest hit of 2017, Golmaal Again. The Ajay Devgn-Parineeti Chopra starrer minted Rs. 30.14 crore on day 1. The difference is marginal, but there is a chance that the former might beat latter’s weekend collections. Now moving on to the Khans of Bollywood. Hard to believe but Avengers: Infinity War has also beaten the opening day collections of Aamir Khan’s Dangal – Rs. 29.78 crore. Speaking of Aamir Khan movies, even PK lags behind AIW, with a day 1 collection of  Rs. 26.63 crore.

Salman Khan’s movies namely Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan had a collection of Rs 27.25 crore and Rs 26.40 crore, respectively, on day 1. Thus, Avengers: Infinity War has also zoomed past these movies.
