Filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh‘s upcoming film Jasmine has grabbed all the limelight due to it’s out of the box concept which deals with surrogacy. While producer Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment had earlier revealed that she has been talking to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the central character, there were rumours that Anushka Sharma was the first choice to play the leading lady of this film. Though, as per the latest development, we have learnt that the Sultan actress was never offered Jasmine.
The spokesperson of Anushka Sharma also clarified the rumour and said, “The producers had never offered Jasmine to Anushka Sharma. So, the rumour doing the rounds that she was going to do Jasmine is absolutely baseless.” Producer Prernaa Arora from KriArj Entertainment also confirmed this news and quoted, ” Anushka Sharma is one of the finest actors of our time. Every producer wants her to helm their film. We had earlier expressed that it would be great to have her in Jasmine but we would like to clarify that we had never approached Anushka to do the film. The rumours are completely untrue and we vehemently refute this information.” (Also Read: Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s director Shree Narayan Singh and producer Prernaa Arora collaborate to make a women-centric film titled Jasmine)
Tentatively titled Jasmine: Story Of A Leased Womb, the film is inspired by a true story. Director Shree Narayan Singh, who previously helmed Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha told Mumbai Mirror, “It is inspired by a real-life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn’t want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point, she gets attached to the child and wants the child back.” Looking at the one-line story of Jasmine, it seems to be a strong and emotional film, but do you think Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be able to do justice to this impactful role?
